Postira, 10 km from the ferry port in Supetar, is an ideal destination for all those who wish to enjoy the rich monumental heritage and natural beauties of the island of Brač, where there are a number of pebble and rocky beaches surrounded with pine forests.
Only about a hundred meters from the sea, with a wonderful view over all of Postira and straight to the sea, there is a house of family Cvitanic.

The population is oriented towards the soil and the sea, so local homemade products, such as olive oil, wine and goat’s cheese, are included in the tourist gastronomic offer, and fish processing is the principal activity of the town’s population.

Postira is little place on the northern coast of the largest island in Dalmatia and the tallest island in the Adriatic sea — the island of Brac that inhabits around 1300 people. Postira, as well as every other place on the island, has many historical and cultural sights.
The main activities of the locals are agriculture, fishing and other tourist services, so you can have the opportunity to enjoy Brac cheese, fresh fish, vine, olive oil and other fruits of nature on island of Brac.
You can reach Postira either by driving 15 minutes from the ferry-port Supetar, or from the Brac airport near Bol, situated around half an hour from Postira.
Postira spreads over five coves, that have wonderful and diverse Beaches, as do the coves around Postira.
The most fameous is the Lovrecina Beach, only a five minute drive from Postira, that attracts many sand-beach lovers from the towns of Split, Omis and many towns and smaller places on the island.

Several great Croatian writers and artists were born in Postire (Vladimir Nazor, Ivan Ivanišević, etc.). Several archaeological sites and a parish church are of interest for enthusiasts of cultural heritage, while the traditional cultural-entertainment event Postirsko lito (the Postira Summer) offers an authentic experience of folk fiestas.

 

The island of Brač is the highest and third largest island in the Adriatic Sea. The island is well known for its quality stone used to build many palaces. This is the island with the only stone mason school in Croatia.
